LO3 - Carry out a specific media production role for a chosen media production

A role that i undertook within a media production was the role of an editor

During this production I under took multiple tasks such as edit decision lists and footage logs. I chose to undertake these roles as i felt that i could accomplish them effectively and quickly as in secondary school i had done tasks similar to these so i felt experienced when doing them. I also took the tasks of doing the recce sheets and risk assessments as i felt i knew the local area rather well and could find multiple locations that were suitable for us to film in. Also during editing I used my own initiative by choosing to edit the film in black and white instead of in colour aligning the film more in line with the thriller genre. I felt this helped make the trailer that much more interesting and mysterious to the audience. Overall i edited half of the trailer due to the fact we were working in a group of 2 so we felt it fair to half the amount of editing between us. I did not feel confident with editing at the time as i had never used premiere pro before so it was a difficult learning experience for me but at the end of the course i felt that i had learnt many skills that helped me in later projects.
